Carlos Coutinho is a Solutions Portfolio manager for Wellington Management and he teaches classes at Bryant University. His team manages global portfolios and they are a multi-asset trading company (gold, oil, currency). He and his team have to be aware of politics and policies and how they might affect the economy. He works with people from all different backgrounds (Asia, Europe, USA, etc). During the interview, we talked about what caused the Great Recession, the housing bubble, and what he projects the job market to look like within the next few years. Mr. Coutinho has worked with Boston high schoolers in the past on financial literacy, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have interviewed him.
