Lobbying

Banks find themselves places in the American government by lobbying Congress. This creates a moral and legal grey area comes when banks lobby for Congress to pass laws that will get them more power, in turn making them more profitable.

S.2155 Bill

The S. 2155 bill (Financial Choice Act - H.R. 10), was a bill that would ease regulations put on banks post-Great Recession. Voting for the bill was split among party lines, but more importantly, it was found that 76 financial institutions had lobbied on the bill in hopes of changing the vote’s outcome
